Verdi Trails West will offer Summer Horsemanship Camps Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. from June 14, 2010 until August 27, 2010 with a new camp beginning each Monday. Those aged 6 and up are welcome to participate. Fundamentals of riding and horse care will be taught through round pen and arena exercises, lessons in grooming and handling and on trail rides. Advanced instruction is available for those who are already familiar with basic riding skills. Campers should wear long pants and sturdy shoes or boots with a heel, a hat and sunscreen. Protective riding helmets are provided and all campers must wear a helmet while riding. Our experienced instructors are trained in first aid and CPR. The horses used in camp are all owned by Verdi Trails West. Lunch will be provided each day. On Friday, families of campers are invited to a noon barbecue followed by an arena show put on by campers. Cost for the week-long camp is $400.00. A non-refundable $150.00 deposit is due upon registration; the balance of $250.00 due on first day of camp. |
